ANNOUNCEMENT - BUILD FOR AFRICA BENEFIT!

19 year old student teacher, Yasmin Davis of Coogee, is raising $30,000 to build a primary school in Africa.

“My two passions are music and education so I decided to organise concerts to support Build Africa in their quest to improve schooling in Africa.” says Yasmin Davis.

Young Trio ‘JackManFriday’, local band ‘The Fontaynes’ and up and coming Ska band ‘Project Collective Ska’ are coming together to perform at The Bald Faced Stag Hotel in  Leichhardt on Sunday September 8th at 6.30pm.

With 20% of funds already raised from the first concert held in Coogee, this is the second benefit in the process to reach the final amount.

“The first concert was such a great success. So many people came to support the cause and the night was filled with great music and dancing.”

All proceeds will be donated to Build Africa, an organisation working with remote communities in Kenya and Uganda.

“As a student studying Primary Education, I am passionate about education for people of all ages. Education is the key to Africa’s prosperity and the best thing we can do is provide schooling in which they learn skills that we take for granted such as reading and writing. I plan to change this for some of these children.”
