ANNOUNCEMENT: YOUR FAVORITE ENEMIES [CANADA] - SEPTEMBER 18TH!
Canadian alternative rock band Your Favorite Enemies are hitting Australian shores for the first time this September. The band formed back in 2006 in Montreal and have since put out several releases through their own DIY label ‘Hopeful Tragedy Records’. Their influences range from bands like The Cure, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Pearl Jam, The Ramones, Nirvana and U2 which has morphed their sound into something that spans across several genres from post-punk to prog rock.
The first EP that they put out through their independent label in 2007 sold more than 30,000 units and pushed them overseas on their first European tour. 2008 saw them release their second album and sell 60,000 copies and venture over to Japan for the first time as well as gaining a spot on the “Final Fantasy” game soundtrack. Not long after, they acquired a former Catholic church where they built two professional studios for live streaming concerts and set up an office for their non-profit organisation Rock ‘N’ Rights which promotes human rights and helping kids through music.
2013 is set to be one of the most exciting years for Your Favorite Enemies as they will be releasing their new album ‘Between Illness And Migration’, expanding their label to Australia, Europe & Japan and touring Australia for the first time. The first single ‘A View From Within’ has already started to spread the YFE name in Oz but their performance at Big Sound in September will be their first chance to introduce their music to yet another new audience.
