Weekend Detention formed in late 2011 It is the ‘brain-child’ of Black Label Drummer George Muscat. After discussion with his Black Label band mate Steve Mulry the spark was lit. Wanting to get back to their musical roots, George and Steve recruited Paul Brasile and Peter Skaroupka and Weekend Detention was born.
Playing a couple of gigs early 2012 to test drive the band around Sydney the word has spread fast with bookings coming in regularly.
In September 2013 Paul Brasile left the band and was replaced on guitar by Dennis Val from the band “Love Child”.
The band’s repertoire are songs hand picked by each band member’s favourite artists. Their philosophy “playing songs by great artists” which consist of Rock, Roots, Boogie and Blues their set list includes but not limited to :- Ben Harper, Albert King, ZZ Top, The Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers Band, John Mayall just to name a few.
