Melbourne’s NE OBLIVISCARIS have had quite the year. Since releasing their debut album ‘Portal Of I’ worldwide in May 2012 (through Code 666/Aural Music & Welkin Records in Australia), Ne Obliviscaris’ have gone from strength to strength.

Having received rave reviews from every corner of the globe, including making many end of year best album lists, ‘Portal Of I’ saw NE OBLIVISCARIS quickly stamp itself as one of Australia’s biggest metal bands, whilst at the same time gaining them more and more attention throughout the worldwide metal scene. The massive hype that has surrounded the band led to them signing with one of the worlds premier metal labels SEASON OF MIST, (home to Morbid Angel, Cynic, Mayhem, Arcturus, Solstafir & more) and by any interpretation the future appears very bright for this band.

Having been tucked away writing their next album for most of 2013 thus far, the band is coming out of hibernation to play what will be their only Australian headline shows in 2013. Fans can expect plenty of new songs mixed in amongst fan favourites from ‘Portal Of I’!

In a world where words like “original” and “unique” are thrown around so loosely, NE OBLIVISCARIS truly is one band that has gone out and created something extraordinary all of its own.

JOINING them on the night are the incredible A MILLION DEAD BIRDS LAUGHING from Melbourne, RISE OF AVERNUS & MYRAETH.

PSYCHOTIC TURNBUCKLES RETURN WITH SYDNEY SHOW

Old style, body-slammin’ high energy rock and roll returns to Sydney on May 11 with the Psychotic Turnbuckles returning to the Bald Faced Stag at Leichhardt.

The Turnbuckles are touring on their double disc Destroy Dull City CD collection on Citadel Rercords and will be supported by Brisbane’s HITS and glam rockers Kill Appeal.

Psychedelic fuzz rock champions the Psychotic Turnbuckles are current holders of the Rock and Roll Tag Team Championship belt. Their CD release contains the Destroy Dull City EP, the Beyond The Flipout LP, out-takes, rarities, A and B sides from every single released.

It also boasts two exclusive live tracks from the band’s triumphant return to Sydney at the Stag in December 2012.

The band comprising Jesse The Intruder (vocals), The Grand Wizard (guitar), El Sicoldelico (guitar), The Psychedelic Unknown (bass) and Gorgeous Karl Domah (drums) will re-convene for rehearsals at their headquarters in Pismo Beach, California, before returning to Australia.

The Psychotic Turnbuckles carved a swathe through Australia’s rock and roll venues from the early 1980s, relocating from the US after their professional wrestling careers were interrupted by notorious promoter Sammy Duke.

They quickly showed they were the equal of influences like the 13th Floor Elevators, Radio Birdman, the Moving Sidewalks, the Masters Apprentices, The Sonics and The Aztecs by laying waste to the local beer barns and rock hovels.

They shared stages with the likes of The Troggs, the Hitmen, Dark Carnival, Beasts of Bourbon and the Screaming Tribesmen for a decade, fading from the scene as members filtered back to the US.

Their surprise reappearance in Sydney last year showed the ‘Buckles still have the goods to take down any contenders. It sealed a deal with Sydney’s legendary Citadel Records. And the rest is history…

ANNOUNCEMENT: Rotting Out - Unable to make 2013 Australian tour with Cold World

Disappointing news to say the least. We can confirm new Australian dates for Rotting Out are under way.

Official statement below;

It is with great disappointment and sadness that I have to announce that Rotting Out will not be appearing on the scheduled Cold World tour or Break The Ice Festival later this month. After long deliberation with the band it was decided that the tour was no longer possible. Both the band and I were greatly looking forward to the tour and had high expectations. Rotting Out vocalist Walter Delgado had this to say about the cancellation;

“Rotting Out apologizes for any inconveniences we have caused with the cancelation of our Australia and New Zealand tour.  We are disappointed in ourselves for letting you all down. We are all devastated that we can’t go and hope to make it up to you all as soon as we can”

JUST ANNOUNCED! IN HEARTS WAKE - JUNE 16 - LIC/AA

UNFD, Blunt Magazine & Killyourstereo.com present

IN HEARTS WAKE - THE SURVIVAL TOUR

Byron Bay hardcore act In Hearts Wake have just announced The Survival Tour, which boasts nine dates across Australia throughout June. Joining them for the ride are Canadian hardcore frontrunners Counterparts, along with locals The Storm Picturesque and Stories.

Since the release of their debut album Divination in August last year, In Hearts Wake have toured consistently across Australia leaving no region unturned. Their impressive schedule in late last year included consecutive tour supports for House Vs Hurricane, Dream On Dreamer, Enter Shikari and Iwrestledabearonce. The band also played an extensive run of headline shows before supporting Northlane on their massive regional Worldeater tour in January.

Not content to sit back and relax, the band are about to embark on a mission to visit every last corner of New Zealand and will then will take on a couple of regional dates, before shifting their focus towards The Survival Tour.

Having played more than 100 shows in the last 7 months, it is safe to say the five-piece have built themselves a very loyal following, and it seems fans aren’t the only ones paying attention. In Hearts Wake were voted Best Newcomer of 2012 by Blunt Magazines’ end of year readers poll, and Divination was voted #1 Album Of The Year in 2012 on KillYourStereo.com‘s end of year rankings. Highly regarded US magazine AltPress has also named them one of the top bands to watch in 2013.

Supporting In Hearts Wake on The Survival Tour are Counterparts, who will play their debut shows on Australian soil. Signed to Victory Records, the Canadian lads have made a lot of noise worldwide since the release of their sophomore album “The Current Will Carry Us”. The Storm Picturesque from Newcastle will be coming off their tour with US act I The Breather and will play songs from their highly anticipated album “Arrival”. Stories will open the bill, riding high since the release of their debut EP “Void” which was released for free earlier this month to praise and adoration from fans and peers alike.

The Survival Tour will be the final headline run on the Divination album cycle in Australia. Post tour, the band will turn their attention to new opportunities both locally and overseas.

An extremely limited ticket pre-sale bundle is now available in via the UNFD store at http://store.weareunified.com/products/the-survival-tour.html – $50 will buy you an exclusive IHW “Survival” cap and a ticket to your chosen show with no booking fees.

General tickets will go on sale at 9am on Thursday 28th March via weareunified.oztix.com.au.
